I read all the books. I watched the movie on opening day. It was terrible but still entertaining (because it was so laughable). I even bought the dvd and watched that sh*t for a week thinking it would grow on me like “A Walk To Remember” eventually did (which didn’t happen but I enjoyed it a little more without screaming teeny-boppers around). But I’m seeing the movie in a whole other light now.
Yesterday was my boss’ last day at the office. And the plan was to start the festivities off with Twilight because the guys wanted to see it. Plus I was to be their Twilight expert (embarassingly enough).
It. was. unbearable. I felt like I was seeing the movie through their eyes for the first time. Unevenly paced, badly acted, cheesy effects, terrible montages and slow motion scenes, story poorly explained. Then they were let down by Edward sparkling (dude, weren’t we all!). My only amusement came from their reactions, commentary and impromptu drinking games (a sip for every time they saw flannel, Edward gave a creepy stare, Bella did this weird spazzy breath / shake her head thing, etc). Such an entertaining experience.
It’s nights like those where I enjoy being at work again.
