This blog is a collection of my (quasi) daily thoughts. I'm Rachel - a 26 year old working in NYC as a web designer & developer for a social networking company. I’ve been told that: I read like a monster, I’m an indiscernable music liker and my red velvet cupcakes are awesome. Also, I’m addicted to bags.

busy busy busy

23 November 2009

I don’t think I’ve ever been so: (a) busy, (b) productive or (c) completely wiped out from a weekend before. But, of course, I loved every second of it.

On Saturday, Carina, Loren and I drove to Tida’s house in Long Island to make her breakfast. It’s hard to explain but what I can say is that I’m grateful that we have the kind of friendship that’s really there for each other in times of need. It sounds cheesy when I type it out here but seriously, it’s so amazing to have that type of support. Anywho – it took us an hour to get there and another hour to cook so it became more of a brunch since we were also running late (as always). The result of our mess in the kitchen, dropping things and generally spazzing out were pancakes (including different shapes which we ate while cooking), scrambled eggs and roast beef hash. See the deliciousness in the picture above?

From there, we all had to make it home by early afternoon. My reason? To work on the baby shower invitations I designed with help from Ate Jannique and Ate Myleen. I’ve never really planned a real baby shower before and wow, it’s a lot of work. I’m glad there’s four of us because I don’t know how one person could handle all this! We’re inviting over a hundred people and there’s invitations, the hall, favors, games, prize giveaways, food and more to consider. But again, I’m actually enjoying it all. It’s nice to be involved in something. Plus it helps to have such a fun theme (Hello Kitty!).

Finally, amidst all that I still managed to have a dinner & movie night with my cousins (movie review of Star Trek coming soon) plus help the aforementioned person with his college applications and essays. So needless to say, this is a very tired me typing at the moment. Just need to make it through today and tomorrow and then.. hello five day weekend!
