I still had one more day to get into the holiday spirit by having my annual Christmas dinner with theedorks yesterday. As per usual – we met at someone’s house, headed over to the restaurant for dinner (this year’s location: Le Jardin in Edgewater), enjoyed a wonderful meal and good conversation and of course, opened presents. Since Christmas Eve, basically all my time has been devoted to my family because we had so many relatives visiting and staying over at my house. And it’s been great! But it was just as great to put on a nice dress and take a break from the chaos to be with my best friends. It’s a tradition I look forward to every year.
Then in addition to family and theedorks, I also got to go bridesmaid dress shopping with Susan and the rest of the bridal party down by the shore. We quickly (and painlessly!) picked out a cute dress, got lunch at the future wedding location, saw the beach where the ceremony will take place and got a mini tour of the reception hall. Choosing the dress plus seeing where it will all take place made it so much more real. It started to hit me that one of my closest and dearest friends is really getting married and I get to be a part of that day. It’s pretty exciting.
But anywho – I just wanted to get an update in since I’m at my computer for once (such a nice change of pace!). Just three more days until the new year and so much on my mind. Nothing bad and/or stressful though! I’m seeing theedorks again tomorrow, I still need to figure out New Year’s Eve plans with my cousins, set aside time for laying in bed doing absolutely nothing and then decide if I’m going to have any resolutions. By the way, I’m just realizing that this entry has gotten way too long and that it has a lot of lists. I think that’s a sign to stop writing and head to bed. So, good night all!
