Goodbye 2009! Goodbye to the blissful little bubble of no work, sleeping in and hanging out that was the last week and a half. And… hello 2010 and the return to reality!
I think I prefer my bubble though. It’s just that I rarely take extended vacations and I’m beginning to realize that it’s extremely important to. Even if you don’t travel anywhere. Just having time for yourself feels great. Having the luxury to stay in bed until noon, go out with my nephews or call a friend any time of the day for a spur of the moment shopping session. I loved having the time to rejuvenate after being so burnt out from work. I think one of my goals for this year will be to indulge in more vacation time.
And it’s only five days into the new year but already my mind has been all over the place just thinking about what I want to do more of. Do differently. Like this blog for example. Where do I want to go with it this year? I stopped writing here for a while because I felt my blog had turned into a weekly recap of my weekend rather than an outlet for my thoughts. So I tried to get away from that (and will continue to). I added things like movie/book/music reviews, lists and photo of the day to my usual entries. But what more can I do and write about? And not necessarily to garner more attention for my site either. But just so I can write. I used to find such joy and comfort in it.. that and design. I need to work on both.
Any ideas?
